College Bound Athlete Scholarship Service and South Brunswick High School helped Cross Country/Track student Athlete secure a full scholarship to Belmont Abbey College, NC, NCAA Division 2.
Jennifer Ordonez is a social worker at South Brunswick High School. Ms. Ordonez contacted Saint James resident Pat Grecco, President and Founder of College Bound Athlete Scholarship Service. As a result of their corroboration, Jaxon Hudson, a graduating senior from South Brunswick High School received a Cross-Country/Track scholarship to Belmont Abbey College, in Belmont, NC. Jaxon is a gifted athlete with the potential to be a successful runner at the collegiate level. Ms. Grecco worked pro bono to help Jaxon narrow down his college choices with a view to majoring in Criminal Justice and compete in a collegiate Cross Country/Track program. Pat has been working with college bound students for 30 years, in all sports and what sets her apart is her ability to find the right school for each student she works with as well as help pay for tuition, room and board.
Ms. Ordonez founder of “First Generation College Student Mentor Program” at South Brunswick High School has been successful in helping hard working first generation students have equal opportunity to attend college and make sure that they receive the help they need to navigate the process. First generation college bound students can be at a disadvantage due to not having a parent at home who understands the entire process, from the application process to financial aid and scholarships.
Pat and Jennifer had the opportunity to attend the signing of the National Letter of Intent, at South Brunswick High School in late May 2019.
The First Generation College Student Mentor Program will continue to identify seniors that are a good match for the program guide and support them through the college application process, and help them seek financial aid and athletic/academic scholarships.
